DESIGN+BUILD PROJECTS BY CLEMSON COMMUNITY BUILD
In the midst of waiting for our zoning permit, our class has switched gears to focus on everything that we can build off site in the woodshop such as the partition walls and all of the steel components like the trellis and the garden wall. We have received the shipment for all of the wood [...]
As we approach Thanksgiving we are all very eager to get on site and get started. On Wednesday we finally got a good taste of working on site. Our rebar was delivered at Singleton Park so we got a group to go out there and start cutting and bending them into loops according to our [...]
As we come back from Fall Break we've hit some snags on our pavilion project: waiting for permits. Now even though we can't yet break ground that doesn't mean we twiddle our thumbs waiting for something to get done. On our first day back we had some crews put together some more sheets for permitting [...]
As we venture upon the Labor Day holiday weekend we've got a few crews working on our different community build projects. We've been hard at work getting the semester started and are eager to get back on track after our hurricane days. Most of our studio can be seen in the woodshop during class hours [...]

This weekend my studio v friends along with our professor tore down the old reading structure that once stood in the same relative location as our new structure sits. Today we started setting the post in the ground and making sure everything will line up exactly like we need in order to get our beams [...]

Its been a super productive weekend [...]
Over the weekend, Ailed, Yage and I had mock-up one of the five benches on the north side of our pavilion. We did the bottom portion of the bench and the bench composed by the two 2x6 supports, fourteen 2x4 seating slats with 1/2" spacing. The mock-up was very helpful, we had people sitting on [...]
