Material Mayhem

In the midst of waiting for our zoning permit, our class has switched gears to focus on everything that we can build off site in the woodshop such as the partition walls and all of the steel components like the trellis and the garden wall. We have received the shipment for all of the wood and steel material that we need to build these components of the structure. Now it is up to us to get these things built with great craft and efficiency.

Above, you can see the large shipment of wood that we brought into the woodshop and cut to length with the miter saw, routed for clean corners, primed for painting, and even ripped on the table saw to make smaller dimensions of wood.

The next step in the process is to paint the wood, cut the incoming shipment of thermally modified pine that we have yet to receive, and create our dado cuts in the wood material on the CNC machine as shown above in a test with our mock up material.
