As we transition into finals week, our studio is getting so close to finishing our pavilion at Plymouth Park. The cedar shake arrived on Thursday, so we began roofing on Friday in class. The crew went out to site both Saturday and Sunday, pushing on this final leg to finishing out the build. While some [...]
As of yesterday, all of our purlins have been attached onto our structure, and now we wait for the cedar shake shingles to arrive! As a crew continued to work on setting the purlins, Anna and I headed over to Old Towne Creek with David to work some finishing touches with stain on the donor [...]
Great progress has been made on the site with the installation of all the rafters and almost all of the purlins. The rafter installation process went relatively smooth with only a few cross-brace systems needing to be shaved down due to having too tight of a fit. All left to do [...]
Today we split into two groups. Half of the group stayed back in the shop. This group made solid progress, managing to finish the final truss, cut and prime all the rafters, and sand all the perlins to be ready for staining. Most of the pieces are ready to be brought out to Plymouth park [...]

The cross bracing pieces have all been assembled and painted. On Friday we worked on creating a large template to help align the [...]
