As we roll into this week we officially have 3 weeks remaining in the semester! This weekend we continued to make substantial progress on the build of our Plymouth Park design project. The cross bracing pieces have all been assembled and painted. On Friday we worked on creating a large template to help align the pieces of our complicated truss and ensure everything is lining up as designed. This weekend, all of the pieces were cut, primed, painted, and we assembled the first few trusses! This design forced us to work with many angles, requiring us to think carefully about fabrication and assembly. I am really proud of the team and how we worked together to make our complicated truss system come to life! I look forward to seeing it all go out to site hopefully later this week.
In other news, the remainder of our classes are heading towards their final days. I had my last day of internship at Liollio Architecture on Thursday, and we had our final book club for Community 1:1. Throughout the book club we were able to have some nice conversations about our goals as emerging professionals in Architecture, and bond with each other over shared experiences in school and work. We had a beautiful day out at Ellis Creek Fish Camp for our last day!
