Finally adding the table and benches!!!

We finally finished preparing everything to take to the site at Stephen Washington Park. A group headed out early in the morning to drill the table we had prefabricated in the shop and luckily, everything fit and worked exactly as planned!!!

We also had a bit of fun in the kids’ park since it was empty.

In preparation for this project, we’ve been learning how to cut steel, weld, and drill in the woodshop. I’ve been practicing welding in particular, and it’s been a lot of fun. Grinding and cutting steel are enjoyable too, though they definitely take more time than you might expect.

We also received feedback from our engineer, John, and are now updating our model for the new construction document (CD) set we’re preparing for the city. Since I’ve been working on the sliding partitions, I spoke with a city representative who explained their review process and how they evaluate submitted plans. Michael let us know that the sliding partitions will need to be submitted for approval, so I’ve been continuing to refine the CD set in the meantime.
