Not to be confused with PEMDAS, we’re currently figuring out the most efficient use of our time while we wait for the next steps of the project.
Since we are waiting on the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding – a fun part of the legal process that we got to learn about) and the permits to be signed, submitted, and approved, there are still a lot of unknowns about when we’ll actually be able to begin construction, along with all of the other factors and “what ifs” we discussed yesterday.
In the meantime, we finalized the semester calendar as best we could to get an idea of everyone’s availability for potential weekend work, while also marking key milestones and check points. We also started putting together a Gantt chart, which will help us visualize the order of operations and make it easier to adjust the schedule as things change.
On the bright side of things, site drawings have officially been confirmed by the landscape architect, and the triangulation and mapping of where the pavilion will sit is well underway! We’ve also been looking into reevaluating the track system and design for the moving doors inside the pavilion, along with some shelf and bench storage ideas.
Of course, some things require a few extra steps. We’ll need to reach out to the wood supplier to get an idea of the available board dimensions so we can confirm material quantities. From there, that information will be passed along to the folks handling the budget and shop drawings then leading to some fabrication.
For now, we’re hoping to get as much done on the front end as possible and REALLY hoping we can get this thing permitted ASAP!
