Starting the afternoon with Duck Donuts (shout out Malu and her firm Coast Architects) and a short standup, we all started work on getting the finishing touches of our research and precedent presentation together. Site analysis, local history, and precedent studies are all deep in research for a comprehensive display to the Conservancy of the Sea Islands, Dolphin Architects and Builders, and local sweetgrass basket weavers. The Historic Preservation students got us off on the right foot and helped with initial research by providing us with valuable insight on the history of sweetgrass basket stands.
The presentation on Wednesday will provide valuable time for us to gain feedback on what the design should include and accomplish, but for now we grind away in adobe. Students are hard at work so currently, there are only sneak peaks of what’s to come on Wednesday. Shhhhhh, Its not ready yet 😉
