Today in studio we received some feedback from our structural engineer, John Moore, on the CD set we had sent to him for his approval. John sent us back some of our sheets with his own markups, indicating elements that needed to change or be adjusted. A lot of the comments that were discussed today involved the connections between our rafters, LVL beams, and columns. We were able to talk to him on the phone during class to clarify any questions that we had after receiving his markups, and are working now to finish incorporating these changes into our model and drawings. As we continue to work on completing our shop drawings and move into starting to work in the shop this week, we’re also gathering material counts and are creating a spreadsheet listing out all of the materials we’ll need to build our design.
