After about seven weeks of planning, designing, and building, we’re finally close to finished on the Old Towne Creek Donor Wall and it has been a complete success so far all things considered. What started as a rough planning process working through the best way to fabricate the pieces and producing a material count, has turned into a great structure that the community can be proud of for years to come. Throughout the process, we ran into some unexpected challenges from improper planning to incorrect dimensions but overall, it didn’t slow us down. There were delays, little changes here and there, and a lot of double-checking to make sure we made the proper corrections or to minimize mistakes. But even with all the back-and-forth, the whole experience was pretty rewarding. We got to do things in construction and the woodshop that we might not have been able to do otherwise and it was a great experience. The final wall looks fantastic and way bigger than any of us probably imagined at the start. We’re excited to be closing in on the finish line and can’t wait to see people enjoying and appreciating it for years to come. Please enjoy some pictures below of the structure in progress and try to make some time to visit it once it is open to the public.
