Priming and Painting for Plymouth Park

This week we’ve begun fabrication for Plymouth Park. So far we’ve completed almost all the fabrication for the columns, have successfully cut all the pieces out for the north side’s cross bracing, and finished priming all of the cut cross brace pieces for painting.

For the columns that are built, we have already applied the paint (see featured image at top). As a studio we’ve decided to use a “Iron Ore” paint color for the columns and cross braces. In contrast to the dark color of the Iron Ore paint, we are going to use a lighter stain color for the purlins. The lighter color for the purlins are to emphasize the natural color from the cedar shake roofing, which will be visible from the underside of the structure and gap in the roof.
