Over the weekend, the class split into two separate crews. A handful of students finished building the wall at Old Towne Creek, while others began to work on cut-sheets for the pavilion being constructed at Plymouth Park. Those cut sheets were used today to create half-scaled portions of our pavilion’s roof truss system. This involved measuring, ripping and cutting 2×6 boards, and then screwing them all together. The purpose of this exercise was to give us an understanding of how our roof structure is assembled so that we are able to complete the job more efficiently on site, at full scale. Over the next few days we will aim to finish these half scaled models, continue with creating cut-sheets, and begin construction.
