Studio Design Updates

The studio’s first design review is quickly approaching, and we’re in full production mode, refining our final design decisions before moving into creating presentation-quality drawings. Our shared workspace is a testament to the process, covered wall-to-wall with sketches full of the design iterations of our ideas, soon to be accompanied by physical models we will be creating in the next few days. With just a week and a half left to develop our designs, each day brings dramatic shifts, becoming refined and strengthened through iteration. Every team has made substantial progress, and as the review nears, the projects are beginning to take shape.

As our designs move beyond the sketch phase, each team has now began developing a digital 3D model using a range of softwares. The collaboration has been both productive and engaging, with group desk critiques and large-screen projections in the studio creating helpful discussions. It’s exciting to see ideas take shape in a more refined form. Pictured here is my team’s design, which features a central spine with adjustable tables that transition into a bench system beneath a butterfly roof.
