This past week was full of introductions and picking up where the previous semester left off. We first reviewed details about our client, THE site, and the programming of our structure. Dave told us newbies the importance of the OSF (Office of School Facilities) and its long inspection process of the architectural drawing set.

Since we need to still submit for approval by the OSF, we had the chance to speak with local architect Eric Aichele, who has completed over 150 school projects throughout his career. Eric sat down with us and reviewed our current CD set to see what needs to be changed or added to receive approval by the OSF. This was a very insightful discussion between Eric and the crew to prepare for the next steps before we submit.

This weekend, the newbies are responsible with hashing out some final design decisions since we didn’t partake in any last semester, particularly the two storage sheds at the end of each “building”. While we do that, the returning students are busy editing the construction sheets to submit to the OSF ASAP. Talk about abbreviations!

I’m very excited to see the site this week and see for myself where we are building this structure.
