Getting Ready For The Engineer!

The final design has been approved by the Conservancy of The Sea Island board! You know what that means… next phase of work. This phase is the construction documents phase in which we need everything to be in perfect order, organized, detailed, and functioning as planned.

David has been especially enthusing about this lecture, and strongly requests our full undivided attention during this timeframe tomorrow. Including an engineer in the process while designing is helpful because rather than butting heads between the two disciplines later on, a rational solution can be reached during the design process. We have bee putting together simple drawings that explain the structural side of our project the best in wake of tomorrow.

For this endeavor, we need the studio engineer to make his annual appearance in studio to enlighten us on what exactly is going to make our project work. this includes the sizing and spacing of members, how things may join and what things need to be added for structural stability.
