The push for a final design continued on Wednesday. At the start of class, we took our two ideas, one with the path on the outside of the structure and one where the path bisects the structure, and developed them further. Both groups were talking, sketching, and measuring spaces in order to figure out proportions, aesthetics, and function. Exploring these options has helped us to determine which design we think will be more successful and as a group we have decided that we think the path should be located on the outside of the building and serve as a main entrance to the stands.
After a long discussion on what we needed to make decisions on next, we went back to the drawing board to figure out some of the technical details like the roof shape, deck shape, and stand design. We split up again into two groups to experiment with shed and gable roofs. Some good ideas were brought forward and as a next step, we will be making scaled section drawings with accurate roof pitches in order to make the correct decision for the best design possible.
