Finishing Cleaning!

With the Spring Cleaning phase coming to an end, only a handful of projects remain to be finished. The tallest task among the remaining cleanups includes the project at Stephen Washington Park. The crew responsible for this project must finish their design solution to comply with ADA codes. At this pavilion, there are a couple of locations where a column is leaning, requiring additional design to protect those who may hit their heads. The team is designing an extension of the floating bench that can be detected by those who are blind and protect them from running into the leaning portion of the column.

In addition, the pavilion was short on tongue-and-groove boards for the ceiling. While preparing timber for milling to replace the missing boards, a bundle of tongue-and-groove boards was found. There is now enough material to finish the ceiling of the project.

Lastly, the pavilion requires additional tabletop surfaces, which will be placed by the benches within the leaning columns. The Stephen Washington team’s last task will need them to design a table that works with the existing design.

More photos will come when designs are finalized for the tables and benches.
