The studio got a last-minute surprise this week… due to scheduling issues, the review has been moved to Wednesday! This is a welcome change, as it has allowed us to spend more time on details such as furniture systems, roof material selection, and ground plane decisions. It has been a long week and many hours in the studio, but the group has made great progress and the project is looking to be a very interesting blend of modern, playful architecture and a comfortable space for community gathering. We have finalized our design and assigned roles for each person in the studio, so we are in full production mode and working towards the review!
We are all still motivated to finish as quickly and efficiently as possible. This weekend is our fall break, and most of the studio has plans for the days off, including sightseeing, hiking, football games, visiting loved ones, and (hopefully) taking a break from trace paper. Everyone is working today to finish up the project as much as possible before the long weekend ahead. When we get back, we will meet with both the city and the community together on Wednesday to present our design. We are looking forward to hearing feedback and getting to share our vision for this park. Hopefully the community is as excited about it as we are!
