Snow Day in the Life

It’s been an odd week here in Charleston with the snow — and as of now it’s still here! As someone who grew up in the Midwest, I’ve been enjoying the snow and the piece of home that I seem to have brought with me down South.

While the snow has kept us cozied up inside, it hasn’t stopped us from being productive in the (virtual) classroom. I figured that this week I could show what a day in my life currently looks like — snow day edition!

In the morning, I woke up and clocked into my internship. This semester I’m working at the Charleston branch of Little Diversified Architectural Consultants, and have been loving spending my mornings in the office with them! This week, I got to help create some renderings for a proposal using Enscape.

After working, I made lunch and then started sketching out some ideas that I had for our studio design iterations. At this point in the day, I was also ready for my second coffee.

Later, in Community 1:1, we were assigned our nonprofit partnerships and were tasked with writing our introductory emails to our contact. I’m excited to be paired with the Charleston Parks Conservancy, and am looking forward to be able to use my skills in order to help support their mission of preserving, enhancing, and expanding Charleston’s parks.

After class and dinner, I worked on some more iterations to bring into Friday’s studio session, and ended the night with a good book and some tea. While the snow days have been fun, I’m looking forward to getting out of the house and going back into work and school!
