A Day in the Life of Erica + Davey Jr.

Mondays and Thursdays are non-studio days so I thought I would show what a day outside of studio looks like. My day started working on a map for my assistantship that shows the units per acre density of the Charleston peninsula.

It was a rainy and gloomy day so for sketching class Carter and I decided to go to La Pâtisserie, the cafe inside the Bennett Hotel. It was super cute in there and they had some delicious looking desserts and pastries.

Then it was time to go to ITC – we took some of our pieces out of the kiln from a bisque fire and are waiting for our glaze to come. Today for class we were waiting for Matt to weld our new and improved extruder so we got to have some fun with clay instead. I decided to make a paint palette, some mushrooms to stick into my plant pots, and a berry bowl.

Lastly – EXCITING NEWS

We have gained a new shop worker – Davey Jr!

He popped up Sunday ready to party with his sombrero on – we had work to do so we kindly let him back outside to go find his friends at the party.

However, he just couldn’t get enough of us and showed back up on Monday because he heard we were rounding up some new ideas!

Yesterday he was supervising  and had to make an outfit change halfway through so we know he means business.

Davey Jr is our hardest worker and is on track to be MVP of the build.
