Great news! We officially have our permit!!! Woohoo!!
Which means starting Friday, we’ll be starting our formwork and hopefully getting concrete poured early next week. In the meantime, we’ve tackled planing, routing, sanding, and painting every piece of wood that will be apart of our pavilion. We started out pretty slow, we’ve got the system down pat and have been cranking through these. Even though we haven’t done anything on site, I can picture how our pavilion will look through all the pieces.
Our game plan going forward is as follows: hopefully be on site starting Friday (let’s hope this rain holds off) to dig our turndown slab footing and get the concrete formwork into place. From there, we can put the already bent and tied rebar into place and have the concrete poured early next week. Our masonry fireplace will be the next thing we have to tackle and we’ll be able to tie the structure into the fireplace following that. Since our columns and trusses are already assembled, we’ll just have to put them in place, secure a roof, then enjoy all of our hard work with a big old oyster roast! Looking forward to it!
