Birds of Prey

This past weekend I went and visited the Birds of Prey Center. This was the building I picked for history & theory to do a video assignment on. The center is very cool for nature lovers or anyone who enjoys birds. They had two main sections – one for birds of prey and one for owls.

My favorite bird was the golden eagle. The specific one pictured here was the 15th bird to ever enter the center out of the 15,000 birds that have now been rehabbed there! She was hit by a car and will always have a broken wing, so sadly she will never be free again 🙁

I learned the center also partners with the fish and wildlife and SC DNR to allow them use of the medical center for oil spill treatment. I highly suggest visiting and seeing the cute owls if you are bored and would like to support a great cause!!
