Over this weekend we spent time to further prepare for our build on site. If everything is cut and drilled correctly, it should all come together relatively quickly. This week has been spent working on our 6×6 columns and our 2×10 elements throughout the build.

With drawings in hand, we have been hard at work to ensure each piece of lumber is cut to length and every hole has been drilled so that each piece will come together. This whole process is like a 3 dimensional puzzle. For drilling holes, we found making a couple jigs would be the perfect template for ensuring consistency.
To test out our process for the final pieces, we spent the extra time to make mock-ups of the connections between the 6x6s and 2x10s using carriage bolts and lag bolts.
Luckily we found some delicious suckers to make the process go smoother!
