We started our semester with a very interesting course, ITC. ITC stands for ‘Introduction To Craft’. For this course, our class is divided into two sections based on two building materials, wood and concrete. It is an excellent opportunity to get in-depth knowledge of materials, their properties, applications and some hands-on experience as well. Our first assignment started with the understanding of the material in a unique style. It is not in our college workshop, but the experimentation will be happening in the kitchen of our own homes. We have to make laminated pastries and cakes to understand the importance of layering and proportions of every ingredient either in food or in building construction materials. I am extremely excited and looking forward to this course!
As you all already know that the design of the pavilion for the singleton park was completed last semester and now, we are all geared up to start with construction documents. Another project of Ardmore Bridge is going hand-in-hand. We have divided ourselves into smaller groups. One group will be focusing on CD sets for Singleton park pavilion, another is working on planters for Ardmore pavilion, and some are working on tying the Ardmore bridge together. In the summer, the handrail of another bridge which was completed by an earlier class of students got damaged. A couple of people are fixing the railing. You know what, I really love this part of CACC.
It doesn’t just create structures to educate students; however it makes sure to take good care of them. Building things one time, however maintaining them is sometimes extremely important.
Go Team! Go Tigers!
