Here We Go Again

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.

With only three weeks left in the semester, there are a lot of things that are needing to be done. We have three projects that we are working on and plan on having them finished by the end of April! With that, we have broken up the class (again) into three small groups with Group One being dedicated to the Frierson project, Group Two overseeing Ardmore, and Group Three wrapping up details for Singleton.

With Frierson’s deadline approaching, there a few things that are needing to be done like shelving, handles, painting, etc. A team of 6 will be finishing that in the coming weeks with fabricating those details. Which means we will be seeing a lot more of the shop and being on site!

With Ardmore, the bridge is in Charleston! From the Upstate to the Low Country it is finally here and we are super excited to set the bridge and add it’s extensions. Which means we are one step closer to having an official park. Of course, there are other details like fabricating the planter boxes, marking on site where the bridge will go, leveling the ground, etc. Luckily, we also have a group of 6 helping push through all these details. For me personally, I’m so excited to see this come to life as it’s been almost two years since me and my class wrapped up the pavilion portion in Fall 2021. It’s an amazing experience to be back and help finish what we started for the community.

And with Singleton, a group of three will be finishing up some small details and taking in all the feedback we received on this past Wednesdays final Design Review. They will also prep for our engagement with Meeting Street Academy and the kids! In case you missed our presentation, attached is link to our FINAL DESIGN PRESENTATION!
