Frierson Posse

As a member of the Frierson posse, I can give some insight into what we accomplished for the day and our plan for the remainder of the week. We’ve assembled a set of drawings for the bench, counter for the sink, shelving, and handles for each operable door. We need these drawings to be hyper-specific since we will be fabricating them in the woodshop over the next few days/week.

We also need a material count. So ensuring that the drawings are accurate and buildable will help us identify what we need to purchase and how much we need. A lot of the budget goes toward the triple bowl sink and the star board surface we’re using for the counter. The remainder of the budget will go to 1×4, 1×6, and 2×4 decking boards.  Beyond attaining standard wood sizes, bolts, and screws, we will also be custom designing and creating the steel handles for the doors.

Most of the steel has already been acquired for the handles, so we really only needed to identify how many “pull” components we need to weld in the shop. This is a skill set most of us have not learned yet, so time to get our hands dirty again.
