This week we started on our design process for Singleton Park’s garden! We were all excited to get into the weeds of it, and we had our first meetings with Prof. Pastre today on our work so far.
We all were randomly assigned different “Site Approaches” which delineated generally where the main gathering space and its structure would go on the site. Here I am literally looking over Kevin’s shoulder at his conceptual render so far.
Today was especially exciting for me because I enjoy seeing my peer’s designs and how they approach design thinking. In walking around studio and talking to people about their projects, there is so much diversity in how each of us approaches challenges in design and seeing the similarities and differences through drawings is really fun – at least for me. All in all, these differences are what I believe will be challenging in working together but also fruitful as our diverse design thinking molds the final workings of what will be built.
