Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Yesterday, each of the four groups fiercely competed to convince the Conservancy of the Sea Islands that their project is the best and that theirs is the one that needs to be built… Not really. We had a great discussion about the productively diverse designs to narrow down towards the last design, which is our singular, final design. The diversity in the designs included location on the site, weather we would use a boardwalk or not, adaptability, phasing capabilities, plantings, signage opportunities, and so on.

The deliverables that were produced were the most extensive yet. These included a model, renderings, sections, a sight plan, a floor plan, and even pricing from each group. This allowed for the clearest picture of the designs that each group had produced. The Conservancy liked aspects of each design and we will use that feedback to create a cohesive design that suits their needs and vision for the structures.

All four of the teams seemed to have great chemistry and produced compelling cohesive designs with compelling cohesive deliverables. My group even created a sort of gag name for our group named [dis]FUNCTION, with an accompanying logo.
