Kaden was correct! I will tell you what had happened in our Friday review for our studios individual designs. These reviews serve more as client meetings than anything, meaning that what we gather from it to continue our efforts toward one cohesive design for the semester is arguably more important than what our partners at the Conservancy of the Sea Islands may take from the meetings. In ode to their attentiveness and helpful feedback, we are on a path towards narrowing down our design into fewer and fewer iterations.
We are now working towards a clustered design strategy that serves as a welcoming for the people entering the site. We are also excluding the structures from the buffer. This means that my personal site placement for the sweetgrass basket stands has been… eliminated. They especially enjoyed a specific few of the students designs including Kylee and Hamilton’s design. So much so, that we now have two categories of small group designs called “Kylee” and “Hamilton”. Hamilton, Nate, and I are reliving our spring cleaning glory days and reuniting to come up with the best possible design concept in the “Hamilton” category (a central structure with wings. The other two groups are multi-structural or ununified designs and a wildcard group that may flesh out anything that could be under our radar.
