Unveiling Our Vision

As we gear up for the exciting phase of our Old Towne Creek Park Community Build initiative, we’re putting the finishing touches on our unique designs, set to be presented to a select group from the Charleston County Park Department later today. Over the past week and a half, we’ve delved deep into researching the site, exploring its rich history, local demographics, and prevailing conditions while drawing inspiration from existing precedents.

Our journey into preliminary design work has intensified over the past two weeks, with each team member focusing on different aspects of the site. We’ve explored many possibilities, from contemplating integrating the donor wall with the pavilion to considering designs within the confines of the surrounding silt wall or nestled amidst the natural tree line.

With our ideas diversified across various site conditions, we’ve brainstormed many program options tailored to the space’s potential. From envisioning stages for live performances to creating serene relaxation spots, educational hubs, and inviting picnic areas, our designs aim to cater to a range of community needs and interests.

Now, armed with our individual design visions, we eagerly anticipate invaluable feedback from our partners at the Parks Department. As we embark on this next phase of collaboration, we’re fueled by optimism and determination. Here’s to a successful presentation—wish us luck!
