BEAMS BEAMS there good for your heart!

With all the shop drawings complete we began to cut the beams. Over the weekend we continued to cut and drill holes into the 2×10 pieces of timber. In order to make this process go smoothly we made two jigs.

We all broke out in multiple groups to tackle everything. John and Peyton maned the chop saw and cut down the beams. We would then chisel into the wood a labeling system. After that they where taken to one of two teams of drillers (Maddi and Makayla or Kevin and Andre). The labeling system was important for the drilling team as they would make sure to not drill from the labeled side and to also make sure they faced the beam up in the proper direction.

While this was happening jigs where being made for the columns. We plan on starting the columns on Monday. In addition, we have been planning the door shop drawing and the built ins.
