Over the past week, we have been working on painting the steel members of our project. We were able to finish painting all of the pieces that needed to be painted blue, green, and yellow. In process of painting the pieces were two layers of primer to cover up the raw steel, two coats of white, and then two coats of the color that was chosen for the desired effect. When that was finished, we moved the steel out to the trailer and a small group moved the steel out to the site when they went to check on the quality of the soil after the hurricane dumped a bunch of water on it.
Once we were finished with the steel, we started cutting the wood for the formwork. In total, we cut 50, 8-foot-long pieces of wood into 200 smaller pieces that will hold the formwork together. While this was going on, another group cut down 4’x8′ sheets of plywood into smaller pieces that will also be used in the formwork.
EDIT: This was supposed to post on October 12th, but did not post when scheduled.
