Switching Gears

Hopefully the news that I am about to bestow on you all today doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone. As the pandemic that is upon us worsens, Clemson as well as many other institutions are taking quite a bit of precautionary measures. One of which is online classes for the remainder of the semester. This news hit my colleagues and I like a brick wall, as I believe it will do some of our viewers. But, one thing I like to always remind myself is that there is always darkness before the light at the end of the tunnel and it’s how you maneuver throughout the darkness to get to the end of the tunnel that will make you a better person. In my case a better man!

As I know I am a few hours late of our normal deadline fore these blog posts, but I really wanted to get all my ducks in a row, so that nobody felt left out or confused as of today. This afternoon, we had our first official online classroom meeting. I feel like I can talk to everyone today that this first meeting went well. Obviously due to what is going on in the world today, our situation has changed tremendously. But, not in a bad way. Studio V is now taking a shift away from an actual built structure, to trying to help the pandemic. Not only are we trying to help the effort in Charleston, but also the world if it comes to that. Nobody knows how long this will last. It could be a few weeks or a few months, but we are trying not to let that bring our spirits down. We all came to Charleston to build something that would better help the community in whatever way that would be. Now we are here to help! We didn’t think that it would end like this, but when a crisis comes to hand like this one, we are always willing to lend a helping hand. I’m not going to spoil what we have planned for the next 5 weeks to help the effort because it’s still on the ropes. But I am sure that my friend Steve will have some good news to share with you tomorrow once everything gets set in stone by the end of the day!
