The first day of the final week saw the team begin to take the columns to the site. Once on site the holes that would hold them to the concrete piers were drilled and they were all ready to be set in place and screwed in. Some of the team worked on wiping do the concrete piers with one last coat of finish after Dave went back through and sanded them all down. The remaining students began priming the girder pieces and LVLs on site. Just as Dave had said the structure seems like it will go up very quickly now that all of the concrete work is done. The day was not over once the sun set however due to the beams and purlins needing to be painted. Once that exercise was over the day was finally done. Tuesday’s tasks will be assembling getting the columns and girders into place and finishing up the painting by painting the storage pieces.
