We have begun to make the wood shop our new studio space. Between the box project for Intro to Craft and this studio project, there is on average 8-10 people in the wood shop during the day. Our actual studio space is a ghost town. It is a nice change of pace, but it is better having windows up in studio where we can get some natural light.
At this point in time, we have all pieces for the storage cut, except for the counter top and carts. Most of the storage pieces have been primed. We are waiting on the word for the color, and then after some more painting all the pieces of the storage will be ready to be prefabricated. The plan is to prefabricate all panels for the storage. This way, we can just bring them out to site and pop them in the spaces between the columns. The pavilion is going up first though, so we’ll just make the panels and then bring them to the site after the roof is up. We’ve got a week and a half left, but if we continue on this current pace, we will be in good shape.
