This week, we are putting the project into Revit. As you can see in the above image, it is very much a work in progress. Now that the column/pier grid is set, we can keep moving forward on the 3D modeling. So far the process has been fairly simple, as we have just been modeling and have only produced a few construction drawings thus far. The storage drawings are much further along than the rest.
The time consuming part of the CD process will be the drafting and detailing in 2D – text notes, dimensions, and all that good stuff. The piers have unique angles to each of them, so there will be very precise and irregular dimensions on them. The pier drawings will be the most important drawings, as the rest of the structure wont be able to go up if the piers are constructed improperly.
