Today was an exciting day for the StudioV team. Why? Do you ask? Well grab a chair, make yourself comfortable, and I’ll tell you…
Today was our first encounter with big wigs behind our project. Our celebrity guest critics included Matt Compton with City of Charleston department of parks, Beth Brownlee also with the City of Charleston department of parks, Jim Martin with The Charleston Parks Conservancy, Fran Clasby who is the Wagener Terrace neighborhood president, Ray Huff who is the director of the CAC.C and our very own David Pastre, StudioV Ring Leader and design-build extraordinaire.
We presented our research, diagrams, and ideas. They informed us as to what exactly they wanted included in the program and some things that should be excluded. They offered feedback from their various areas of expertise and experience so that we can design the best possible intervention within the Corrine Jones Park. We were very excited to hear that they wanted our design proposal to stand as an icon for the park.
This is my first design-build project so this was my first time meeting with real clients that want a real structure. I’m very excited to see our design come to life and stand for many years to come. I think the rest of StudioV shares that excitement. Now that we have more information from our clients we can begin to actually design our structure…
It’s going to be awesome.
