Sparks of Genius

We are currently at a pivotal point in our build where as soon as we finish the welding the steel, we are able to start construction! This week the columns have been cut and painted. We pre-drilled the columns and will align them to the beams to pre-drill those as well. The city is helping us paint the LVLs, so ideally all of our wood members should be ready to go out to site Friday morning!

A team has been working on welding the benches of our picnic tables, which need to be completed before we can begin assembling the columns into the cast concrete. Our goal is to have those completed today so we can clean tonight, paint tomorrow, and begin assembly of all the pieces on site Saturday! David and his buddy completed the structural weld for our knife-plate / bench seats, and for the steel gussets. The parts and pieces are all nearing completion, soon all that’s left will be to assemble!
