Coordination with Structural for Plymouth

Since being back from break its been hard to get back into the swing of things. Although Monday and Tuesday this week felt relatively slow, somehow we have blinked and it is already at the end of the week. Despite this slow feeling, we’ve hit the ground running and hopped back into where we left off in terms of fabrication for the Old Towne project and have been coordinating back and forth with structural for the Plymouth Park project.

First note exchanged with structural about clarifying member sizing
Clarification on the lateral bracing member sizes

For the structural conversations we at first were defining member sizes, however we began to take a closer look into the truss system and realized we could simplify our language into a more efficient approach while maintaining a good visual appeal. Instead of having horizontal and vertical members within our system we proposed to run the web members parallel to the steep sloped bottom chord with equally spaced members running between. This creates a “W” that follows preexisting angles within the design. We also cleaned up the design by proposing to remove some extra members. Looking forward to the feedback from structural for if this new proposal has sustenance!
