Eastside History

Architecture and Historic Preservation students are partnering with the Eastside Community Development Center to conceptualize a way to share the Eastsides vibrant history and help maintain a sense of place in a rapidly changing part of the city. This project will also connect to the Unapologetically Eastside Virtual Tour that will give residents and victors an in-depth account of the neighborhood’s history. The render above is one of several proposals that could be implemented in multiple places and ways. Here we are showing the E.C.D.C.’s office across from Marry Watson Park hosting public art. This could be a great way to showcase local history. Another approach shown in this picture is painted intersections and crosswalks. These have the added advantage of providing traffic calming
