A few of us went out to the site yesterday to put up the silt fence. We had five rolls to get up and we finished it up in a few hours!
Some things we learned along the way:
- Make sure you pull the trencher in the right direction so the dirt ends up on the correct side of where the fence will go….
- Be careful not to break the stakes when you’re putting them in the ground!
- There are a lot of bugs in that dirt.
- There are also a lot of ant hills on site!!
- Bring lawn chairs, water, and a cooler to the site for breaks!
The guys took turns pulling the trencher and putting the stakes into the ground while Caroline and I tucked the fabric down and shoveled the dirt (which had a lot of bugs btw) back into the trenches. We noticed the tops of the fences were sagging, so we used zip ties to make it look prettier 🙂
Before zip ties…
After zip ties!!!
