Embarking on an internship is like stepping into a doorway leading to the professional world, unsure of what lies beyond. As part of a semester-long internship program, I had the privilege of immersing myself in the intricate world of architecture, a journey filled with learning, challenges, and moments of sheer inspiration. Documenting each step of the journey became second nature, as I chronicled my experiences, insights, and newfound knowledge. These reflections not only served as a record of growth but also as a testament to the transformative power of hands-on experience.
One of the highlights of this journey was the regular interaction with mentors who generously shared their expertise and wisdom. Our final lunch on Tuesday, a culmination of months of hard work and dedication, was a bittersweet moment of reflection and celebration. Gathered around a table adorned with BBQ, we exchanged stories, laughed, and reminisced about the challenges we had overcome together.
Throughout the internship, I was entrusted with a myriad of responsibilities, each contributing to my development as an aspiring architect. From pre-design sketches that sparked the imagination to site visits that provided a tangible connection to the built environment, every task offered a unique opportunity for growth. Attending client meetings provided invaluable insight into the intricate balance between artistic vision and practical considerations, while completing construction documents honed my attention to detail and precision.
As the semester draws to a close, I find myself filled with gratitude for the enriching experiences and invaluable mentorship provided by e.e. fava architects.
