Up and Coming

This Past Friday we completed our first of the two concrete pours. The small slab and the first pour of our trellis was completed. On Saturday we went back and removed the formwork from the small slab and cleaned it for it to be reused for the larger slab. We then started working on the formwork for the slab. On Sunday we went back and started setting up the rebars up for the larger slab. We then tied the rebars for the trellis curb. After that we started working on the trellis formwork. We then realised the formwork is sitting higher than where it’s supposed to be. So we started making some changes to the formwork. Prof. David also helped us grind the higher points on the concrete. We are trying our best to get the formwork at the correct height to get a flat curb for the trellis. Currently we are scheduled to pour concrete for the larger slab and trellis. Precision takes more time. And we all agree spending few extra hours now will save us a lot of time later. As sun sets everyday, we leave with satisfaction of the day’s work. It’s Up and Coming.
