Yesterday was the first site visit to Frierson Elementary School of the new semester. For the people new to the studio, like myself, it was the first time seeing the school and meeting some of the kids, teachers, and the principal! I had never been to a Montessori school so seeing the layouts of the classrooms was interesting! 
After the new people were introduced to the school, the class interacted with the students. We built a smaller pavilion that fits at the main entrance of the school. The kids were excited to build the structure and even more excited to see it come together.
The last thing we needed to do at our visit was get some important measurements on the site, such as, setbacks, distance between light posts, and check out the water drainage. We called it a day at Frierson Elementary and headed to a previous community build location to get some ideas for our storage designs
