On Monday we began breaking out into groups exploring various aspects about the site. I was tasked with gathering information about the landscape and existing trees. Most of the trees located on the site are around the perimeter of the pond, but the trees we will be focusing on are the ones the border the larger grass area on the west side of the site. Here is where most of our engagement will be. In this area there are various oaks, sweetgums, pines and persimmons. All of the large caliber trees look to be in good condition, leaving us to have to remove a very small number of the smaller trees.
