After the foundation for the Mulberry Crossing project was completed, the next challenge was to align all of our roof and railing posts so that everything worked within our 3′ increments. The railings allowed for more of an error in the distance, but it was crucial that we get the roof aligned correctly. We precut all the beveled edges for the roof posts and predrilled the connections for bolts. The columns were then dropped in place, clamped, and screwed after they were made plum. The cross beams located at the top were attached to ensure the columns sat at 12′-0″ O.C. Once the measurements were ensured, the pieces were able to be bolted into place to then be able to start the roof construction.
