Understanding Site

Happy Wednesday! On Monday we received news that our site may be changing, but our two groups are continuing to research each site. My group has been working on a possible program for part of the West Ashley Greenway behind the Charleston Tennis Center. After visiting the site, all six of us noticed different things about the way the current program works. This part of the Greenway is fairly busy and is surrounded by neighborhoods. We saw people carrying their groceries back to their houses from the greenway, moms pushing strollers, and people riding bikes. We also discovered that the West Ashley Farmer’s Market set up on the site this Saturday morning. After analyzing the site a little deeper, we put our heads together and each came up with multiple possible schemes for the site. If this becomes our site we’ll dig more deeply into precedents and program ideas. We figure out today if this will be our site or if we will switch gears into another site, so follow along to see where we’ll be building!
