Mission Completed

This week the students are wrapping up the Spring 2018 semester with final presentations and documentation of all work. Although it was a little bit late of our schedule, we finished up the Butterfly Book Nook with flying colors. We are all so pleased with the final results and so is the community!

In addition to our shade pavilion that we constructed, there is also a beautiful mural on site that was painted by Redux, a garden which includes seating and a little free library, and a steel entry gate that was also constructed by Clemson students and participants of the Community Built Bootcamp. With the addition of these features the whole site is coming together wonderfully! As you are driving down King St. the bright colors really draw your attention to the garden and invites all people in. This past Saturday Enough Pie held a parade that kicked off at our site and it was a huge success!

We all had a great time working on this project and truly enjoyed collaborating with Enough Pie, the Dart Library, the First African Evangelical Church, Redux Studios and the City of Charleston. Thank y’all for having us!
