We spent most of Monday on site digging, leveling, and digging again. We began at 1:30 and didn’t leave until after 9. To say that it was hard work would be an understatement. We spent a lot of time drawing the lines of the slab that our formwork would line up with. We then used a laser level to set the formwork for our slab at the appropriate heights. Later on in the day we got 15 more pieces of rebar and a few students finished cutting and bending it into the appropriate shapes. Tuesday doesn’t figure to be too much easier as we have to place all of the rebar in the right spots and tie it together for the pour on Wednesday. I have gained a whole new respect for people who do construction site prep.
