Rain, rain…

Go AWAY! We’re at a little bit of a stand still on construction since there’s a downpour outside so I thought I’d take this time to give a little brief update. It’s been a while since we’ve posted because we’ve been hard at work trying to get the wall finished before our final academic review next Tuesday. There are a couple of things that have happened over the past week. First, we got all of the frames done and started working on the cabling already. All of the storage boxes are complete and several have even already been painted (thanks to the great law student volunteers who came out in the rain)! We can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel! Last night was the Gullah/Geechee pecha kucha 20 on 20 presentation. Despite last night’s storm which was crazy and included nickel sized HAIL…there was a great turnout and the presentation went well. It was very interesting to learn about the other projects going on and the other designers, musicians, filmmakers and architects in the area. It was also really great to learn about the gullah/geechee nation and their culture and how they are involved in the local community and working with Architecture for Humanity to build a gullah/geechee nation camp center.
