As you probably know, we have been working on multiple projects simultaneously for our studio project. We have been working every day on our individual group projects for our ITC class, and we completed them before the deadline! WHOOP! Here’s my group’s project’s final result:
Building these walls, let’s say, wasn’t as easy as we thought, as all the vertical 2x6s are at a 30-degree angle, which causes all the interior wood to be cut at an angle. It took many tries by David and me to figure out the angles, and in the end we got it right. Since it was a bit confusing to do those cuts, we decided to veto the X member at the bottom (as the image shows) and leave it with just one 2×4 at the angle.
Now that everyone has completed their ITC projects, we have had the opportunity to clean up the shop and make some space to build the walls. There need to be 10 walls made, and we have been struggling to attach them because the pine wood is warped, leaving gaps where the pieces meet at the ends.

Something else I have been working on is the overhead trellis. I have been welding all of them, and it has been a sweaty job! After a while, it gets really hot, and sometimes the steel doesn’t contact the end steel perfectly, creating a lot of weld imperfections. Sometimes I get some heat balls in my head… I currently have bald spots in my head. So this is the setup I’ve been wearing. Don’t play with me!
